Perth Lifestyle – 7 Days
Nestled along the Swan River, Perth unfolds a unique magic filled with cultural diversity, natural experiences and inspiring encounters.
This seven-day itinerary shows you the very best of the region: the vibrant capital, historic Fremantle, the green Swan Valley, idyllic Rottnest Island, Rockingham’s aquatic playground and the golden Sunset Coast.
For your accommodation, stylish hotels in the heart of the city are available: Duxton Hotel Perth, Pan Pacific Perth, Parmelia Hilton and InterContinental Perth City Centre. Comfort and elegance accompany you on your journey through Western Australia — for unforgettable moments between city, coast and culture.
Day 1 – Perth CBD
Begin your Perth journey with a two- to three-hour guided walking tour of the city. Discover its rich history, vibrant culture, creative arts scene and hidden gems. Alternatively, you may choose a guided tour in a chauffeur-driven vehicle — ideal for those who prefer to travel in comfort and explore in greater depth. Whether by rental car or with a guide, you will experience a carefully curated mix of iconic landmarks and lesser-known highlights.
After immersing yourself in city life, enjoy lunch at Barrack Square or the nearby Elizabeth Quay. A wide range of culinary options awaits — including Reel Kitchen, the 18 Knots Rooftop Bar at DoubleTree by Hilton Perth Waterfront, The Lucky Shag, The Island, Six Senses The Quay, The Reveley and other venues.
In the afternoon, visit Kings Park & Botanic Garden — one of the largest inner-city parks in the world. Spanning 400 hectares on Mount Eliza, it offers tranquil bushland, beautifully designed gardens and sweeping views over Perth’s skyline and the Swan River.
To conclude the day, enjoy dinner and drinks in the heritage-listed State Buildings — with elegant bars and refined cuisine. Your guide will be happy to advise according to your preferences.
Day 2 – Burswood Peninsula
After breakfast at the hotel, you head to the Burswood Peninsula, home of The OZONE at Optus Stadium. For spectacular views, choose the HALO Roof Climb — a 360-degree walk across the stadium roof with panoramic vistas. Those who prefer a gentler pace can opt for the behind-the-scenes stadium tour, showcasing the architecture and stories behind the “most beautiful stadium in the world” (Prix Versailles 2019).
For lunch, The Camfield invites you in — a lively pub with international cuisine, its own brewery, five bars and a spacious beer garden.
In the afternoon, the Matagarup Zip & Climb awaits: ascend the iconic bridge and glide back to the banks of the Swan River by zipline — an exhilarating change of perspective.
Enjoy the evening in style at Rockpool Bar & Grill at Crown Perth. The entertainment precinct also offers a casino, elegant bars, gourmet restaurants, a theatre and a nightclub — perfect for a glamorous end to the day.
Day 3 – Fremantle
Begin the day with a relaxed breakfast at the hotel before setting off on a scenic river cruise to Fremantle. The 2 hour and 45 minute journey from Barrack Street Jetty passes charming suburbs and well-known landmarks along the Swan River.
Arrival in Fremantle is at 12:30 pm — perfect timing for the daily “One O’Clock Time Signal and Gun”, a quirky maritime ritual in which the cannon is fired precisely at 1 pm by an official “Cannon Firer”.
For lunch, head to the Fishing Boat Harbour overlooking the ocean. Enjoy freshly caught seafood at popular venues such as Cicerello’s, Kailis Fishmarket Café, Twin Fin or Bather’s Beach House — all with a relaxed coastal atmosphere.
In the afternoon, explore Fremantle on foot: stroll along the lively Cappuccino Strip, feel the cultural energy at Walyalup Koort and browse the Fremantle Markets (Fri–Sun) for handmade products, delicacies and special souvenirs.
For dinner, we recommend the Esplanade Hotel Fremantle by Rydges — a heritage-listed building dating back to 1850, where history meets hospitality. Don’t forget to catch the last train back to Perth around midnight — for new adventures the next day.
Day 4 – Swan Valley
Begin the day with a light breakfast at the hotel before embarking on a delightful discovery tour through the Swan Valley — Western Australia’s oldest wine region, just 25 minutes from the centre of Perth.
On a tour tailored to guests’ preferences, you will visit boutique wineries, private breweries, distilleries and sweet stops such as chocolate and nougat factories. For a deeper insight into local culture, we are happy to offer a Bush Tucker talk or an art class with a local artist.
The landscape of the Swan Valley is unique: from the historic town of Guildford to the gentle hills of Chittering Valley, hiking trails, wildflower paths, cycling routes and bridleways unfold — ideal for individual exploration. To conclude, enjoy dinner at one of the region’s finest wineries. Exquisite cuisine and beautiful vineyard views provide a stylish and flavourful end to the day.
Day 5 – Rottnest Island
After breakfast at the hotel, your island adventure begins with a spectacular seaplane flight departing from Queen Street Jetty in South Perth. Enjoy breathtaking views of the Swan River, the skyline of Perth, Fremantle and the coastline.
Upon arrival on Rottnest Island, take the train from the Settlement to Oliver Hill. There you will join a guided bus tour with stops at significant sites — including the historic WWII guns and tunnels of Oliver Hill. Afterwards, there is time to explore the island’s pristine beaches and hidden coves.
For lunch, dine at Lontara, the signature restaurant of Samphire Rottnest. Here, coastal flavours blend with relaxed elegance. Afterwards, you have free time — whether for a stroll or a guided cycling tour to discover the island’s hidden corners.
At 4:00 pm, return by ferry to Fremantle, arriving at approximately 4:30 pm.
The evening in Perth is yours to enjoy: whether the Comedy Lounge, His Majesty’s Theatre, RAC Arena or other cultural venues — the choice is wide. For dinner, the lively restaurants and bars along Murray Street and Hay Street invite you to indulge.
Day 6 – Rockingham
Begin the day with an early breakfast at the hotel before heading south to Rockingham — just 45 minutes from Perth.
Immerse yourself in an unforgettable natural experience: swim with wild dolphins in Shoalwater Islands Marine Park (available from late September to early June). Afterwards, enjoy a 60-minute boat tour around Penguin Island, where you may spot dolphins, sea lions, pelicans, birds of prey and penguins — followed by a guided wildlife walk.
Those seeking even more adventure can snorkel in crystal-clear waters and encounter rare Australian sea lions and playful bottlenose dolphins up close — an intense and memorable nature experience.
For lunch, fresh gourmet platters with regional flair are served — perfect for recharging.
After an eventful day on the water, return to Perth. Spend the evening in Northbridge, the city’s vibrant nightlife district, where a wide variety of restaurants and lively bars provide the perfect end to the day.
Day 7 – Sunset Coast
Begin the day with a relaxed breakfast right by the ocean on the Hillarys Boardwalk. Right next door, AQWA — the Aquarium of Western Australia — awaits with fascinating insights into the local marine world.
Glide across Australia’s largest single aquarium in a glass-bottom boat and take a behind-the-scenes look on an exclusive jellyfish nursery tour. Discover ancient, brainless creatures older than dinosaurs — or embark on a snorkelling adventure with sharks for a special thrill.
Dive even deeper with AQWA’s “Behind The Scenes” experience: access to normally restricted areas, updated tour content and special feedings are part of the programme. Feed invertebrates and explore the Coral Bank of WA — a living conservatory full of colourful corals.
If time permits, spend the afternoon at Karrinyup Shopping Centre — Perth’s top destination for fashion, dining and lifestyle. Browse more than 300 shops, including exclusive designer labels, and relax in stylish cafés or entertainment areas.
To conclude the day, enjoy authentic French cuisine at one of the city’s finest French restaurants — a true delight for lovers of elegant dishes and intense flavours.
